Recently I spent a lot of money and lost 14 hours of my life to a 2 day instructor led Lightroom 5 course. I've also read other Lightroom books and spent countless hours watching online videos on the subject, but have always felt something was missing or lacking in them.
I should have just saved the money and time and bought this book instead.
I haven't even made it through the entire book, but I've already learned more awesome tips and tricks in the hour I've spent with the book than in the entire 14 hours I wasted in that class. The section on the Match Total Exposure command alone was worth the price of the book.
Admittedly, some of the information presented can get a bit technical, so some of the explanations might be lost on the absolute beginner photographer. That said, I found the step-by-step explanations of how to do things quite concise and easy to understand. Best of all, the author doesn't just gloss over what each slider in the develop module does. I've watched a lot of video tutorials where the narrator will move sliders around without telling you exactly why or what's actually happening to the image. Mr. Evening actually takes the time to explain HOW to process images to bring out the best in them.

As a newcomer to Lightroom, I found this book to be written in a sequence and language that was immensely helpful. I would definitely recommend it.
