Our son is 2 1/2. We cruised through the 2nd year with relatively few major questions and/or transitions. We made the switch to the "Big Boy" bed and a few other things. We had the book, What to Expect the Second Year, to refer to. A few months after turning 2 we were slammed! There were tantrums...big ones! Suddenly our son hated almost every food we made. Our sleeping angel started waking up throughout the night and....finally the time came for potty training! I was ready to pull my hair out when I came across this book on Amazon. I ordered it and we have been happy ever since. It is a long book, but it has EVERYTHING in it! There are many suggestions for food issues. After reading this book I was able to calmly face tantrums. We tackled the sleep problems too. While we were in the thick of potty training I found more helpful advice.
If you're a first-time mom, like me, and are feeling lost this is a great book. I also loved the tone the authors used. They mixed in a lot of humor and it's an easy read. There is a very large section on health/medical issues and first-aid. Luckily we haven't had to use this too much yet. There is so much information in that section that I know it will be a helpful resource at 2 a.m. when we need somewhere to turn. I highly recommend this book.

I was hoping this book read more like Baby 411 but it doesn't because it covers a much broader age range. I think they should have a Toddler 1, Toddler 2 and so on type of book. I bought it once my daughter became 1-year old to read about behavior, feeding, sleeping parents but didn't really find it useful for her age. Probably it'll be better for parents of older kids.
